Guppies Galore

It’s been quite awhile since I have kept guppies. I used to spend hours when I was a child watching the common feeder guppies in the local petstores. Despite their fancier counterparts, I have been looking for a group of wild type guppies.

I recently was able to obtain a group of Jemez Feral guppies. These fish originated from the McCauley Springs in New Mexico. These guppies are a rarity, in that they likely HAVE NOT been crossed with Endler’s Livebearer. The guppies were introduced into the springs somewhere between 1940s and 1960s. With some patience, I hope to get a large colony going of these guys.
